Company History

Founded as Hepworth Electrical Developments in the mid 1960's to design, develop and manufacture an extensive range of low voltage (LV) underground mechanical connectors for the UK underground distribution network.

Hepworth Electrical Developments soon became a major supplier of product both into the UK and Overseas markets.

The Company expanded their product portfolio with the purchase in 1988 of a well established and respected company, ERMA, manufacturing compression fittings and associated tooling for the commercial and specification markets.

In 1991 Groupe Sicame purchased Hepworth Electrical Developments thereby again extending our product portfolio to now include access to LV and HV overhead line products for both distribution and transmission lines. The Company name then changed to the now familiar Sicame Electrical Developments (SED).

The continued expansion of the product lines has now seen SED expand into the supply of an extensive range of LV and HV jointing kits with extensive supply into the UK Utilities.
